It feels like you are teleported to the Caribbean. This feels much more like an Ocean Hideaway than a simple lake house. The water has that aquamarine blue with deep blue depths way out. You can walk way out into the shallow water on the sandy bottom. At night, there are NO city sounds, just the sound of the surf and the crickets, with fabulous stargazing as there is no city light pollution.
This is an adorable designer-decorated "Beach House"!
Months were spent transforming this into the funnest beach house in Michigan. This house represents the things we liked BEST about other places. It’s kind of a mix of California, the Bahamas, Australia, and Key West, with a little Michigan beach house thrown in.
It's upscale, but not so upscale that you'll feel uptight about taking full advantage of everthing. So that's it, upscale without the uptight!
Huge sand dunes in the backyard, what looks like an ocean in the front!
In this house, you don’t feel like you are next to the beach, you feel like you are plopped right on the beach. Sandy beach in the front yard, the back yard, under the water, on the dunes right behind you. Climb up the sand dunes for a 360 degree view of the area.
Magnificent sunsets, setting right into the water directly in front!
No two sunsets are the same. Every night you can take a different, beautiful picture of the sun setting right into the “ocean”. And don't forget the perfect Bonfire on the Beach.
Miles of idyllic sandy beach to walk, run, kayak, board, snorkel, dive, fish, or swim!
One of the best bays on Lake Michigan to kayak, kite sail, or rent a jet ski. The fishing is world class, with salmon, walleye, and fly fishing that draws people from all the way around the world.
Although our info page has lots of info, you may find that the beach is such bliss that you'll want to spend all the time there and save everything else for next year!
Cleverly functional home feels spacious and comfortable!
Sunny Dunes is very cleverly designed. Closing the huge pocket doors between the Kitchen and Living Room creates a giant Master Suite. The Dining Room (rarely used because dinner outside is so much nicer) doubles as a wonderful Breezeway / Sitting Room by folding the leaves of the table and using it as a side table. At night there’s great privacy from the master and the kids rooms.
